  1. I’ve invited some contacts I have in the Vermont Progressive Party to post their thoughts on this.  I’m inclined to believe that their example offers a better route to advance the kinds of reforms that are desirable to open up elections to more voices.

    If I have to prioritize between working to elect a Green-Rainbow candidate for a legislative seat, or working to put IRV on the ballot as a referendum, my priority would be the former.

    As long as the one-party system holds in Massachusetts I think there’s as much hope for the legislature to sustain the will of the people’s choice for IRV as there was for the legislature to sustain clean elections.

    The answer is a strong challenge and enough victories to tip the scales and make the ruling party sweat.
