(I have been thinking in terms of music today — because the challenge before us requires more than what Jill called “oratory and beautiful sentiments from our leaders”, more than tired political conversations and games, more than even the straightforward tried and true political workhorses like voter ID, standouts, signs, bumper stickers, etc. We need creativity, and vision, and truth — something typically so foreign to political campaigning.  And what better medium than music for creativity, vision, and truthtelling? Sometimes it’s nice to break up all of the stress of politics with a little music.  I was 17 in 1978. Spent the summer in California with this song playing in the background of my life.

Whenever I hear it, it brings me right back to that time.

    for some of us whose best interests have been kicked to the curb by some factions of the Democratic Party, the party many of us loyally supported for years.  

    As far as I’m concerned, it is over. I refuse to support a candidate who does not support the best interests of our country, our whole country.   It has just begun.  Supporting candidates that do support our interests, no matter the party.  Free Again!  

    I won’t buy the wine, but I will drive all the way to Boston to pick up lawn signs.
