What exactly WAS Patrick’s role in the global economic collapse? He was making $360,000/year as part of the five-member board overseeing Ameriquest, which was using its predatory loans and subprime mortgages as the raw material for exotic (read: worthless) mortgage-backed securities that it was selling to Wall Street. This was a key piece of what brought down the global economy, yet Patrick so confidently acts like he didn’t play any role as a private individual before he was governor. Of course, it didn’t stop there, as his infamous phone call as governor on Ameriquest’s behalf demonstrates.
