  1. Thank you for your kind words and your support!

Here’s a link to yesterday’s (Tue 12 Oct 2010)  full 1 hour 3 way debate hosted by State House News Service and the Rappaport Center:

12 Oct 2010 Video of State Auditor Debate: Windows Media Player

My main point: public money should be spent for public purposes, like safe streets, strong schools, and healthy communities.

Personally, I think it is “must-see” video, but I leave it to others to decide who won!

So far, the debate hasn’t generated much press coverage of what I had to say, except for this:

Fortune called tax-incentive programs part of the “great America jobs scam,” saying not only would he audit those programs but push for the money currently diverted to lure specific businesses to be reinvested in communities for police, teachers and librarians instead. “Electing an auditor to tell you that the money is  being thrown away exactly as expected is not going to help,” he said.

I ask for your support and your vote this Nov 2nd.  Thank you!

You sounded like the only person who knew that the purpose of collecting tax dollars was to fund public programs, not to subsidize corporations.  Thank you for being our voice.

I think you would serve the state extremely well as auditor.  I hope you win.
