(An interesting proposition, especially when Dennis Kucinich is saying that Obama’s actions are an impeachable offense. But I don’t see it as an issue worth organizing around. – promoted by eli_beckerman)
I’m not saying that there are no differences between Democrats and Republicans.
I’m not saying that we would be better off today if McCain and Palin had been elected President in 2008.
However, over 3 years of life under President Obama has clearly demonstrated that there is a great deal of policy agreement between the 2 major parties, and that, more often than not, President Obama has continued the policies of President Bush.
When we consider the policies of the Democratic President when it comes to issues like …
1. Waging war abroad (recent example of Libya without congressional authority)
2. Continue the attack on civil liberties
3. Increasing support for the corporate agenda
4. Continuing toxic energy policies that are endangering the planet
5. Increasing devastating budget cuts that harm the needs of the people
6. Continue the movement towards Privatization
7. Increase attacks on unions
(Note: Please add some more.)

There is no question that there would have been from the “left” a call for the impeachment of the President IF it were a Republican that would be pursuing these policies.
There is no question that the “Democratic Party Left” has been comparatively silent in their opposition to the President’s policies.
The only significant call to impeach the President is coming from the right.
What about the GPUS? What about the GRP?
At time when our party is considering which issues we are going to work on, I suggest that we should at least consider whether our party should call for the impeachment of the President and conduct a campaign in support of that call.
My incomplete understanding with our other proposals is that we would be working with other groups. This is good. No problem.
Impeach Obama could be the campaign where we take the lead.
What do people think?

I feel just as stressed and terrified of the future as I did when Bush was President. However, I think it’s probably a bad idea to go on an “Impeach Obama” mission.
Especially since George Bush walked away a free man from his many crimes and government mismanagement fiascos.
It’s certainly a great idea though to share as often as possible the mismanagement fiascos that Obama has allowed to happen.
