Stein clinches nomination with big wins in California, Michigan, Florida, Iowa

eli_beckerman June 7, 2012 10

From Jill Stein for President, June 06, 2012:

The Green Party’s Jill Stein has clinched her party’s presidential nomination after celebrating a major victory in yesterday’s California primary, winning 49% of the vote against her chief contenders, television comedienne Roseanne Barr and public servant Kent Mesplay. The California win followed other recent Stein victories in Michigan, Florida, and Iowa.

With 182 delegates required to win the nomination, and 194 delegates now in hand, Stein will go into the Green Party convention in Baltimore, July 12-15, with a clear majority of delegates. She has won over 66% of all delegates allocated, and 27 of 29 Green Party primaries, with the next nearest candidate, Roseanne Barr, at 22%.

Wisconsin betrayed by silencing of democracy movement, says Stein

eli_beckerman June 7, 2012 0

From Jill Stein for President, June 06, 2012:

Dr. Jill Stein, the victor in the Green Party presidential primaries, this morning issued the following statement about yesterday’s recall elections in Wisconsin:

“For over a year now, the working people of Wisconsin have been under siege by the fossil fuel, mining, and toxic chemical corporations. Yesterday’s recall election was deeply flawed. Thousands of qualified voters were turned away from their polling places. Thousands more were told not to vote, or that election day was yet to come. The corporate media declared the election results while voters still stood in line to vote, and at a time when only the most conservative ward results were reported. Many votes were cast on electronic voting machines that are easy to manipulate because they lack a paper trail. And nearly all of the money spent in the election came from out-of-state big corporate interests. If an election like that is free and fair, then I have a nuke plant in Vermont to sell you.”

The Advantage of Medical Marijuana for Alzheimer’s disease Treatment

mariathc May 26, 2012 1

Recent medical research suggests that the use of medical marijuana could play an important role in reducing the progression of the dreaded Alzheimer’s disease. Tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, which is its main ingredient reduces and prevents the formation of protein deposits in the brain neuronal deep. These deposits are primarily responsible for this degenerative nerve. Medical marijuana is provided by the clinics provided medical marijuana to control the formation of these protein deposits or sticky amyloid plaques which result in neuronal damage, inhibit memory and cognition, cause a severe loss of memory, and confusion, irritability, mood swings, disorientation, and slurred speech.

Progressive and fatal disease Alzheimer’s disease destroys brain cells, causing memory loss, dementia, and motor skills disrupted with reduced intelligence and social skills. Alzheimer’s is among the ten leading causes of death among the elderly in the United States. Research indicates that Palm Desert cannabis is an effective drug treatment for Alzheimer’s disease and some of its symptoms.

Although medical marijuana (MMJ) is legal in some U.S. cities, it is mandatory that all medical marijuana card holders to obtain cannabis medical dispensary’s legal. Medical cannabis dispensary may also refer a patient in the process of obtaining their medical marijuana card in California.

Alzheimer’s disease is a degenerative disorder that is characterized by a continued decline in memory and intellectual ease. It is incurable and terminal and usually affects people over 65 years. Medical marijuana reduces the production of the enzyme acetylcholinesterase neural triggering the formation of harmful protein deposits in the brain and decreases the level of the important neurotransmitter called acetylcholine.

Although alcohol, heroin, cocaine and nicotine suppress and inhibit the growth of new brain cells, recent studies by clinical research based in San Diego Scripps shows that marijuana promotes the growth of neurons. It is this property that strongly supports its medicinal use along the distribution controlled and monitored through various medical marijuana dispensaries in Palm Desert.

There are a number of prescription drugs that are also known to suppress the growth of new brain cells. Apart from doing exactly the opposite, medical cannabis dispensaries Palm Desert decrease tumor growth and inflammation in clinical trials of nearly 50% of patients with lung cancer. Patients find great relief from their symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease through a licensed clinic that provides optimal doses of medical marijuana to cope with their symptoms.

Green Party presidential candidates Jill Stein and Roseanne Barr “debate”

eli_beckerman May 16, 2012 9

Kind of surreal, and admittedly awkward “debate” between MA’s own Jill Stein, and television’s own Roseanne Barr. But full of impressive ideas and dialogue that puts the Obama/Romney fake political discourse to shame.

The debate was hosted by the San Francisco Green Party, co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters of San Francisco, and moderated by the host of San Francisco NPR-affiliate KALW’s “Your Call”, Rose Aguilar.
