An exemplary statement (needless to say, I’m not surprised).

Best line: “A few features of the bill are indeed positive, but these could easily have been enacted without being attached to this massive mess of a bill.” An important distinction, since too many are praising or damning the whole thing as either divinely inspired or a total disaster. I still feel it’s a positive start–it sets a precedent for government involvement–but it’s nothing more than that, and it’s going to take leadership AND grassroots support that ain’t going to come from the Democrats to move to where we need to be.

Statements like this one make it clear to me where the leadership WILL come from. It’s up to us to demonstrate, over the next seven months, that the grassroots support is there as well.

Right on, too, in regard to the absurdity of voting GOP to protest Dem ineptitude when it comes to genuine reform. We’re damn fortunate to have a real alternative here in MA (and they’re springing up all over the country!). And we’d be damn fools not to work overtime making sure everyone else avails themselves of the same.

Did I say seven months?–yikes! Let’s get to work!
